Description:

 

We are currently seeking a Sr. Linux System Administrator to join our team. This position will require you to give support to internal as well as external customers.

 

The IT team's goal is to ensure 24/7 support while keeping to a minimum all service interruptions. Also, you will be required to deploy new solutions while maintaining a high level of service.

 

The Sr. Linux System Administrator's responsibilities include all aspects related to customer solutions, roll-out and installation. You will be required to manage operating systems and software support, security, problem solving and you will be responsible for the general administration of these systems.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Administrate a network of 300 servers (95%) Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Unbuntu);
  • Solve operating system, application software, hardware and network problems on various platforms;
  • Software installation, maintenance and update;
  • Equipment installation, maintenance and update;
  • Search for problems and solve them;
  • Ensure the servers' high security level;
  • Create and maintain a detailed documentation of the IT infrastructures;
  • Provide customer support and manage the internal LINUX infrastructure;
  • Provide 24/7 support coverage during on-call hours, assist with the planning and installation of infrastructures and with the regulation of Linux systems.

 

Pre-requisites

 

  • DEC in Computer Science
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with managing midsize to large scale systems with Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu.
  • Bilingual (written and oral)
  • To be at ease with the adult nature of our activities

  • Virtualization with VirtualBox and XEN
  • LDAP security server configuration/ installation
  • Modification and optimisation of operating systems and applications

Email server administration
